First Interpretive Sign Installed in the Park

The West Blocton Coke Ovens Park now has its first interpretive sign. The sign was made possible by a grant from the Tombigbee Resource Conservation & Development Council. In addition to creating the sign, the grant allowed the park to create a comprehensive signage plan outlining future signs for visitor orientation, park interpretation and wayfinding. The project was completed in collaboration with the Alabama Innovation Engine and the Bibb county office of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.
